The summit was a thoughtful, far-sighted discourse on the role of design in culture, society and business as we enter a new era and confront new issues. The dimensions of this conversation were critical to leading a vigorous public discussion and constructive actions by all of the represented interests in pursuing the value design can create in achieving broader public interests.
With John Hockenberry serving as facilitator and moderator, the summit involved small and large group discussions and brought to light clear statements that are informing the shape of future summits. The group’s recommendations have helped transform the Aspen Design Summit in 2006 and beyond.
